Welcome to the July issue of our newsletter. In this Issue About the ICUK Innovation China UK (ICUK) is a HEFCE/DIUS funded initiative (£5m for the initial two years) in supporting joint innovation and technology transfer between the UK and the China. We have facilitated and sponsored over 70 UK/Chinese collaborations at the stage of feasibility study and Proof-of-Concept research. With technology development near completion, we are now working with Chinese government organisations, HEIs, and companies to exploit these joint technologies and seek commercialisation partners in the Chinese market. As a non-profit, government funded UK organisation with strong links into Chinese industry, Innovation China UK (ICUK) is searching for close-to-market UK technologies which are in significant demand from China. With the ever-increasing development of Chinese industries, demand for technologies is booming. Unable to satisfy the huge demand with their own home grown capabilities, our Chinese partners are extremely interested in what UK companies and spin-outs have to offer. Through our own ICUK events or those organised by our Chinese partners, our aim is to partner UK technologies with potential Chinese companies. In the first instance, we will be concentrating our efforts in finding technologies or products to meet the demands from industries located in the cities of Shanghai, Dongguan and Hanzhou. Shanghai - Biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries 
Shanghai has predominantly strong technology demand in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The technologies which local industries are seeking include: - Medical imaging product/method A bio-pharma event organised by Shanghai Science &Technology Commission will be held in October. ICUK will be attending this event to promote technologies and companies from the UK. If you have a technology which fits any of the areas above, we can help you find potential partners in Shanghai. Dongguan - ICT manufacturing, broadband system, Copper Clad Laminate, and equipment manufacturing 
Dongguan has now become the Chinese hub of ICT manufacturing, broadband system, Copper Clad Laminate, and equipment manufacturing. We are seeking technologies to meet Donggaun industry demand in the following fields: - Computer and telecommunication equipment manufacturing ICUK will be holding a technology promotion event in Dongguan on 28 – 30 October with the intention of matching UK technology to Dongguan industry. Hanzhou - Clean Energy, Energy-Saving and Emission reduction 
With a substantial nuclear power station nearby, the local government is extremely interested in energy and environmental technologies which include the following: Clean Energy Energy-Saving and Emission reduction A wide range of commercialisation opportunities is available if you are a company with close-to-market technologies in these areas.
